Intro: Dealing with Mental Health As A Black Woman
Hey Y’all,
This will be a series, a short series, but I thought I shine light not only on myself but other women that maybe facing similar things and situations. I’m coming from a place of being transparent and honest about these things.
As someone that has worked with those who struggle with their mental health and dealt with it personally, it is hard. It is hard to navigate life sometimes.
You can want to do xyz, or have thoughts of completing a task but there are barriers sometimes. Feeling trapped and misunderstood is hard to deal with. Which is why is important to have people in your corner that are understanding. Not too long ago I shared on our Facebook page “Adults need a village too” and it is so true. A village of people that may make up your friends, family, certain people in professions that will help you through it.
Anxiety sometimes is a barrier for me and it is so frustrating at times. Others, it’s like oh well deal with it. But when you have intentions to do something but things sometimes things feel like as though it is working against you. I want to shed light on what someone may deal with: friendships, dating, career/goals, family, fellowship etc.
